AI strategy & roadmap

  • 14 to 16 weeks
  • For Executives
  • Online · On site

Your full, company-wide AI strategy, built with your leadership team in nine working sessions: the ambition, the projects worth backing with value cases checked by finance, the organization and governance to deliver them, and an 18-month roadmap funded one stage at a time.

Is this for you?

Who it is for

Companies that need one AI strategy for the whole business, where pilots exist but there is no shared plan or funding logic. The work involves the CEO and executive team, finance, business unit leaders, IT and data, risk or legal, and HR.

Group size

The executive team of 6 to 12 leaders, joined in each working session by the people who own that decision.

Prior knowledge

None required. If you completed AI strategy framework & plan outline or AI Strategies for Leaders, we build on your plan.

Core objectives

  1. 01Agree the AI ambition and where to defend, extend or reinvent the business
  2. 02Score every opportunity on value and feasibility, and prove the best ones in numbers with finance
  3. 03Decide what to build, buy or partner on, and which data and platform you need
  4. 04Set roles, decision rights, governance and the way results are measured
  5. 05Plan 18 months in three tracks, funded one stage at a time
Why it matters

Many AI strategies look convincing on slides and stall in practice: priorities are not funded, nobody owns the results and governance comes as an afterthought.

Companies that get AI right pull ahead: BCG finds that the 7.5% of companies it classifies as future-built deliver 2.4 times the revenue growth of laggards.

How it works

  1. 01 Diagnose
  2. 02 Envision
  3. 03 Prioritize
  4. 04 Plan
  5. Funding of the first phase 05 Commit

Funding decisions

The engagement runs in five phases: diagnose where you stand, envision what AI must change, prioritize every opportunity with the best worked out together with finance, plan the order of work, and commit, when your decision-makers review the investment case and decide on funding the first phase. The work happens in nine working sessions, each ending in a written result: strategic alignment, AI readiness, data strategy, use-case prioritization, governance and responsible AI, operating model, change and adoption, measurement and ROI, and scaling architecture. Run all nine, or only the ones you need. Between sessions, your team prepares input and reviews drafts.
